What began as a young teen’s hobby building model cars on a bench grew to become Phoenix Rod & Custom, founded, owned and managed by Glenn Smith. Phoenix, which opened in 1998, is now one of northern New Jersey’s premium hot rod builders and customizers. Glenn has kept Phoenix in the family, having been joined in the business by his son Craig in 2003.

Prior to opening Phoenix Rod & Custom, Glenn worked in and managed several major restoration shops
in northern New Jersey for 25 years. He has completed ground-up restorations on hundreds of cars of all makes and models, which have gone on to win many major car shows and awards.

Not just any car buff can work at Phoenix Rod & Custom. All the Phoenix pros have been customizing, restoring and designing hot rods, classic cars, vintage cars and muscle cars nearly all of their lives. All
those years of experience pay off many times over in the superior quality of the finished product.

Glenn Smith is a member of The National Street Rod Association (NSRA).
